Classes & Workshops

MORE INFO

mothers fire

We will meet weekly underneath open sky, around a fire in the ancient way that we have always done. Allowing ourselves time to recharge, replenish, connect with other mothers, the trees, the birds and all of nature.  Singing, walking, meditating, moving, playing games, foraging, cooking, creating herbal concoctions, crafting, weaving and learning outdoor / nature connection skills.

I strongly believe these practices to be vital to our wellbeing, and that of our children.  The sisterhood created around the fire is pure magic. Though laughter and tears, the shared journey of motherhood bonds us together in friendships that far transcend our formal gatherings.

We will, week by week build on your knowledge, skills (and joy!) enabling a solid nature connection practice, and the skills and confidence to spend heaps of outdoor time with your little ones, whatever age.  My hope is that all fireside experiences can be taken home and woven into your family rhythms and ways of being.  Little ones are both held by the circle and free to be led by their explorations of the natural world.

Sessions will be £15 per adult for the 2 hours including craft or herb materials and a hot tea for mothers and children.

Children are free. As always during the holidays older siblings are welcome to join the circle. .

Spots around the fire are bookable termly, which run with the natural festivals rather than schools.

I have training in outdoor leadership, am insured and first aid trained so you are in good hands.

Please dress appropriately for the weather! There will be a cosy fire, and there is shelter and blankets, but ultimately we will be outside rain or shine :)

Nature connection – Wild School

Wildlings is a humble offering to home educated children, with the intention of creating a sense of community, wonder and rhythm in the world. These sessions will be open to children aged 6-11 and will be four hours in length. A small group of children gathering together on the land throughout the seasons on Wednesdays and Thursdays for play, connection and child led learning.

My intention is to create a space where each child feels deeply seen and loved by myself as well as the group, and really thrives.

The time spent together will create safe and trusting relationships with the land and each other with a focus on ecological literacy and creative play.

Our ethos will be respectful, all is welcome and participation is by inspiration rather than force. We will care for each other and the land. Children will be provided with a tray / drawer to keep any creations and natural treasures. Children will need a snack and a packed lunch each morning alongside their kit.

:
The sessions are £40 a morning spread out over the year to include six weeks unpaid holiday.  We will not be running at all for the month of January.

Cost per month is to be paid on the 1st of each month via direct debit

Learning of Core Subjects - Maths, English & Science

Tuesdays:  Drop Off for 8-11 year olds

Through mutually agreed, theme-based learning, children will cover the core subjects of Maths, English and Science. As the learning is theme based, we are able to work with children at all stages of their learning journey. The approach will be hands on, nurturing, and personalised for every child. Children will have the opportunity to engage in learning as a circle, but also in smaller groups where appropriate.

All children have a right to an education, but that doesn’t mean traditional classroom settings are appropriate for all. Children learn differently, and need to be nurtured as individual learners. I believe that we can develop children as a whole, creating resilient individuals, whilst also equipping them with the essential knowledge and skills they need to thrive in their future. As children move through school, the holistic learning approach is often lost.”

Subjects will be taught in discreet lessons focused on termly themes, mutually chosen by the children.
A small group, of no more than 14 children, will gather together to share in the diversity of their thoughts, ideas, opinions, questions and relationships. Where appropriate, we are able to split the group into smaller groups for a more focused and personalised learning experience.
