Learn the ancient skills of wood carving from Ed The Barefoot Tinkerer himself, and make some gorgeous spoons of your own to take back home! This class acts as a perfect introduction to axe and knife carving, with no previous woodworking experience necessary.

Using fresh wood, and ancient techniques, you will learn all you need to turn a log into a beautiful spoon using axes and knives!

We'll focus on carving techniques that will allow you to carve safely with confidence so you can create them at home too.
Spoon carving is great because the tools required are small and transportable, so you don’t need a workshop or a workbench - you can even do it in your own front room! This workshop is designed to provide you with a strong foundation to create all sorts of carved objects.

There is something quite special about taking a piece of branch or log, and with a few simple tools crafting something beautiful and functional. This course is suitable for those just wanting to indulge in a creative evening in the woods, and for those wanting to learn the basic skills, and a little about tool choice, so they can carry on spoon carving at home.
